Is All Network Marketing Bad?

Network marketing is not bad. I know it may seem like I think it is after my recent articles.

In truth I don’t think network marketing is bad. I just think it is promoted with way too much hype and B.S. Then what happens is people go into the network marketing industry believing it is something that it is not.

First off let me say that I appreciate the feedback from so many of you. You know who you are.

Then let me clear up some misunderstandings. I don’t think network marketing is bad I just feel that it is not promoted with integrity which then causes people to continue to perpetuate the myths of the industry.

network marketingAs far as work goes, network marketing is not bad work. It is a fun way to create an income (for that extremely small percentage of people that actually create income from it) and I love the social aspect of network marketing. My only hope is that I can help people go into network marketing with eyes wide open and with an understanding as well as acceptance of what it is and what it is not.

What network marketing is NOT is a way to work hard for 2 or 3 years then retire. That is a myth it just doesn’t happen in the real world.

The model itself is so flawed that there is no way for any of them to remain sustainable without an ongoing consistent effort on the part of the business builder that is creating a full-time income from it. There is no way a person could retire from it and expect it to continue on without their continuous effort and serious attention.

50% of the people that join a network marketing company quit within the first year. That is not any different than trying to fill a bucket that has a hole in the bottom of it. How in the world are you supposed to be able to retire with a business like that?

One thing that has been bothering me in recent years is how these companies and promoters come along and promote their network marketing business as a way to retire in two years or some other ridiculous claim like that.

There was a company just a few years ago that was actually promoting itself that way and I just thought that was the dumbest thing I had ever seen in the industry.

network marketingI mean if you are going to lie to me right up front like that, how in the world could I ever be a part of something like that? Only the most naive and gullible people on the planet will fall for something like that, how could I ever take an offer like that to my friends and family? They already think I am a little off as it is.

In order for me to work with someone the first and most important thing I am looking for is someone I can trust. If they are telling me things that I know are not true right up front why in the world would I consider going into business with them? I wouldn’t and most people with any sense at all would not either.

Something I found a little comical about that company I just mentioned is that I just saw an ad very recently with the founder of that company now promoting some other similar type of company.

But in reality it is not really funny at all because that means that there are thousands of good people out there that wasted a tremendous amount of time and money trying to make that thing work a few years ago and now what are they doing? Just a few years ago they were telling everyone how they were going to retire in two years and now they are peddling a new deal. That to me is very sad and it is things like that which give the industry a bad reputation.

I feel for those people. I was among them for so many years and I’ve lost track of how many times I fell for some outlandish claims as well.

In reality the only way you can retire in the network marketing industry is to build a large organization and get yourself into at least a six figure income then take that income and make some very good investments. In other words prepare for the day when the program you are building is not growing anymore because that day is coming.

There is a very small percentage of people, less than 1%, that ever grow their network marketing business into a six figure income. If your hope is to retire with network marketing the only way to do that is to save your money and make good investments.

Like I said at the beginning of this article, I think network marketing is a fun business to be involved with and if you have special talents, skills and connections you may even be able to make a little money in the network marketing industry. If you are looking for a way to retire, save your money and make good investments.

The reasons I have begun to write so much about all the flaws of the industry is two parts.

First I hope to help as many people as possible avoid the mess they could make of their lives by falling into the trap of network marketing.

Second, I finally found the answer for the work at home entrepreneur that does not have all the flaws of network marketing. I mean it just wouldn’t be right to go out there and tell everyone they are heading down the wrong path if I didn’t have an option for them after having made a lot of money in the industry myself.

But I ask you…
